SINA.com Files for Initial Public Offering
SINA.com, a Chinese-focused Internet company announced today that it has filed a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in connection with its initial public offering of ordinary shares. SINA.com will offer a total of 4,000,000 ordinary shares, plus an underwriters' option to purchase an additional 600,000 ordinary shares to cover over-allotments. The Company has filed an application to list the shares on the NASDAQ National Market under the symbol "SINA". Net proceeds of the offering are expected to be used for working capital and other general corporate purposes.Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and China International Capital Corporation Limited are acting as the joint lead managing underwriters for the offering. Chase Securities Inc. and Fleet Boston Robertson Stephens Inc. are acting as co-managers.
A registration statement relating to these securities has been filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission but has not yet become effective.
